I took the red-eye home Sunday morning, and had to immediately go back to work, right up until this morning, so this is the first chance I have had to sit down at the computer.
All I can say is........WOW! I had a great time! Seeing all those priceless chips in the clay for the first time was a thrill, but, overwhelmingly, my favorite part of the whole thing was putting faces to the many names I see here. Fellow chippers are the best! When I show my collection to non-chippers, I invariably get that "intersting, but really man, are you a little nutsy?" look. Lol, not last week. A quick snippet of a conversation:
Me: You know that nice old .50 cent Fremont chip?
Chipper: You mean the brown with the hub mold?
Me: No, the other......
Chipper: What, the 3rd Issue Arodie???
Me: No, no......I got that one, the one with all the variations.......
Chipper: Well, there is the black hat F one, the white F has several variations, etc., etc.,....
What a relief to know there are folks out there screweyer than I am. I want to thank all my fellow goofy chippers for welcoming me to such a wonderful hobby......
I now have a whole year to talk the missus into letting me go back again!
