My favorite convention chips

I found some chips that filled significant holes in my collection this year, especially the $1 and 5-center from the Pony Express in Minden. I already had the 25-center and $5 from there, so these were nice acquisitions. I'm very close to having every denominational chip from Minden.

I bought the $5 Tony's Club, then moved to the next table and spoke to longtime collector John Rauzy, who worked at Tahoe in the late '40s and early '50s and was a regular at Tony's (which later became Dopey Norman's). It's always fun to hear John reminisce about Tahoe.

The chips from the Cal-Neva Biltmore have some of the nicest inlays ever made, IMHO, and now I need only $100 to complete that set.

It was a great time as always, seeing old friends and making some new ones. I'm already looking forward to August 2007. And I'd like to join in with the congratulations for the newly married Sue and Rick Miner, two of my favorite people in our great hobby.
