Phantom of the Opera is now being presented at a specially built theatre at the Venetian. Yesterday was the formal opening, although it had been in shakedown performances for a couple of weeks or so. If you like the big musicals, this is a must see! I saw it in London 15 years or so ago and this presention is much better! It's expensive ($157 for best seats) so maybe you can get your host to comp it? Singing is outstanding and staging and special effects are great. Don't miss the Opera Ghost (OG as he signs his missives).

Try not to sit under the big light fixture in the center of the theatre [g].
