1950 is the earliest Helldorado pin that has been found.
There was a Helldorado Parade last year, for the Centennial Celebration. It was looooooooooong and it was HOT that day! There was an invitation on the web, and pretty much anyone could "march" in the parade. My husband and I watched for about 2 hours, then headed to the Horseshoe for cold drinks. We heard that it lasted about 4 hours. There was also a (sort of) Western Village and Kangaroo Kourt set up off of Fremont Street...just for a day or two. It was not even close to what they used to do , but it was good to see a tribute to the old tradition.
The city decided to continue the Helldorado tradition in 2006. We were in Vegas in April, but left on the 20th. The 2006 events were scheduled to begin on April 24th and run through the month of May (May was the traditional time for Helldorado days).
They did issue badges for 2005, but I don't know about 2006. We took a couple of our badges from the "50's and wore them along with our 2005 badges.
