I simply can't comprehend why all these folks are signing a "pledge" that is so poorly drafted that while it states what won't be done, it doesn't actually say what it is that you're not to do.
The club has established a grading system. That system is used to establish value (see US Casino Chip Price Guide). Therefore, by the clubs own ludicrous logic, if a member encloses a chip in a protective case and assigns it a grade (e.g. slightly used) they are a slabber.
What possible difference does it make if the chip is assigned a word grade (mint) or a number grade where 1 is junk and 10 is mint? What possible difference does it make what the case looks like?
The fact is that what you all are really against is the PAYMENT for the grading service since it would cost you a small bundle to have it done and inflate prices but the TRULY FUNNY part is that the "slabfree pledge" doesn't say a damn thing about payment now does it?
Ya'll just keep tap dancing around the real issues.. I suppose it's great exercise.
