In my experience with Chip Talk, they do not seem to recognize us as the collector. They know we are here, but it is there mission to have the best home gaming set of chips out there...even if that means coming as close to the real thing as they can.
Here is an example:
One of the members of Chip Talk is fond of the Palms chips. In his effort to make his own home gaming chips, this was his result. Mind you, these are what he had made, and in my opinion, come way to close to the origional as a collector.
As a collector, if you mention that you feel that these are to close to the real thing, saying it will harm the collectors side of the hobby, you will be negatively "rep's" away, which is there way of rating posts.
If they could dupe old Vegas chips like the Sands, Dunes, etc they would. For a fact I know that some of the members are currently soliciting a chip making company in China to do just that, make dupe chips. I did find something funny in that thread I am refering to though....one of the guys that had solicited China had send in a chip to be made that was designed by another Chip Talk member....which turned into a 20 page pissing match of how that guy had no right to send in chips that belonged to someone else to be duped.
Though I understand what the Chiptalk members are after, it is my opinion that they certainly DO NOT have or care about us collectors as a whole.
