I'm a teacher and Greg summed it up perfectly - if you take the hard classes and work hard, you get a good education but if you take the average classes today, you can do nothing - except the extra credit poster a day before grades are due - and pass just fine.

It has to be that way - there is so much pressure to pass everybody along and not cause problems...for the kids...for the parents...for the school.

The majority of teachers and students take the easy way out.

As with most things, it's not America that's the problem...it's Americans.
