Poker Spot was a online poker site started up by Russ "Dutch" Boyd back in around 2000.
The site went dwon and most people who had money in the site lost it. At least one person claimed that they had lost over $50,000. Another person claimed to have ended up losing there house because of it.
Dutch has claimed that the reason the site went down was because his credit card processor absconded with players money. The problem most people have with this explanation is that once people started having cashout problems Dutch was responding by telling them it was a glitch and the money would be paid and he was still soliciting and accepting more deposits.
After the site was down he was offered money for the assets of the company, that money could have gone a long way to paying back depositors, but he refused to sell because he wanted even more money for it, so he held on to it until it became completely worthless.
He has made statements that he intends to pay everyone back, but I have yet to hear of a single person becing repaid.
Many people believe that he walked off with the money, but most of those who believe that he actually had a problem with his credit card processor believe that he still profited to the detriment of his customers.
