... coin inlay with or without concentric circles?

I know I've read notes about the rings, somewhere... but can't seem to locate them.

I reread all of Howdy's auction descriptions (CCGTCC Auctions and his auctions) without any luck.

I'm also pretty sure the process has been described on this BBS several years ago, but can't find it, either.
