Thanks Gene. I had a file of your posts (and others) on the history of C&J, H&C, and the Burt Co. and how it all fit together and fell apart but somehow that became lost in the migration to a new computer. As noted, I was a little behind the curve on the Nevada mold.
I remember discussion about old and new H&C dies and shiney vs. dull hats and canes and who had what etc. Seems the current prevailing opinon about the brightness of the mold markings is the composition of the clay used made the difference between what Burt made for Christy and Jones and the current dull hats and canes that Paul Son manufactures these days. Do you believe this is the case? We can leave short canes and long canes for another day!
