Any image from any companys scanner software can be imported directly into external software. 'Twain' is nothing to do with Epson. Twain is an industry standard. All the HP, Epson and Canon software is Twain, its just they dont all call it that.

Try this once

1. Open Photoshop Lite
2. From the 'File' menu select 'Import' and 'Select Twain 32 source'. Select your scanner
3. From the 'File' menu select 'Import' and 'Twain 32'
4. You scanner should automatically power up and do a preview scan.
5. Hit the 'scan' button. It should scan with whatever settings you have, automatically close the twain software and show your scan in an 'untitled' window in Photoshop.
