Hi All......on April 23rd, I won an eBay auction of Barry's for a Sinatra 13th Issue Cal-Neva $1 S Mold chip. I am a Sinatra fan, and I have been looking for a nice example of this chip for a while. This looked lioke a nice one, and I was happy to get it at a solid price ($55). I paid immediately via Paypal. Barry emailed my back thanking me, and said he would ship the chip the following day, on Monday, April 24th.
Two weeks passed, and the chip had not arrived. I gave Barry a heads up and he confirmed that he had indeed mailed the chip on April 24th.
The chip still had not arrived on Friday, May 12th. I sent Barry a terse email that went something like "still no sign of the chip, are you sure you sent it?". He responded later that day. He said that in his view, the responsibility of getting the chip to me was his, and that if the chip did not show up, he would find another of the same quality for me even though he did not have one available. He asked me to give it another week or so just in case.
Well, thank heavens, the chip arrived today, 23 days later, safe and sound, and is in better condition than Barry's auction description. The postmark verifies that Barry did mail it on April 24th.
I want to publicly thank Barry. He showed me something with the way he handled this uncomfortable situation. Where I think I might have come off as being impatient, annoyed and skeptical, he responded with patience, calmness and class.
It is nice to know that in this day and age, there are still some great people out there. Thanks again, Barry.
