Most $5 chips sell for $7.50 / $8.00
Not a big investment ......
What got me started collecting limited editions
and away from older chips, was my brother-in-law.
He bought a Thuinderbird / mustard color chip
for $250.00 A month later that same chip was
selling for 50. Someone had found a box or 2.
Plus you buy a $25 chip limited to 100 that
is it. This is why I really like the $25 chips
of old. Now most $25 are limited to 500 or more.
I think the $25 chips are a steal at 28 to 30
dollars, what they sell for on Ebay.
Plus think about this!
A guy 21 years old, will most likely start collecting casino chips from a casino he has gone too.
Palms, Rio, etc. Rather than old chips from a
place and time, he never went to.
Each chip holds a certain memory with it.
That 21 year old might get a $1 Sands chip, but
he has no real feel for what that chip holds.
Sure you can see pictures, read stories, but the
chip is THE story.
Wow ............. know I want to start collecting
old chips! But then again, I'm not 21 but 51.
