I really HATE controversy, but feel I have a right on this board to also be heard. Many people don't feel they have a voice on this board anymore, I'd like to think I still have a small one.
I agreed with Chuck last night on the board for the simple fact that I love this club and it breaks my heart to wonder what visitors and potential new members may think about members of the Splashbar and club members in general. I don't want to see anyone avoid the Splashbar on their first convention trip by wondering what they may encounter. I have found the Splashbar to be a highlight of the convention, and I don't want to see ANYONE uncomfortable or nervous about attending.
In case you are wondering, like Chuck I have liked 99.99% of Terry's photos and posts (heck, Terry's one of my favorite people in this club). The one exception was the photo of men dressed as Hooter's girls...I know club members will not be exposed to actions like this at the Splashbar, and I hope all new attendees know that.....enough said.
Reference some of the more risque photos that are popping up lately:
Am I the only one that remembers the person that posted a photo of a naked Palms ad of a women with a golf bag? Remember how fast that photo was deleted and the verbal chewing-out that the poster received? Suddenly now a member posts a naked woman on a car hood, and that's ok? Sorry folks, it's just PORN, and it's NOT ok to post on this board, let alone without any warning as to the content of the post.
Semi risque photos usually don't bother me, I choose to generally ignore them. Since lately they have been posted more and more often. It's causing me to think: " What does this portray our club as?". I choose not to take ANY chance of embarrassing or tarnish this club's image.
Easy Rule of Thumb: If you can post your picture in your company's lunchroom in full view of not only your co-workers, but your peers as well - it's fit to post here. Hence, puppies asleep in dog food cans and big guys in pink tutus are fine.
If the answer is no, you might want to think twice about what you're doing.
Just a reminder: we have women, children and potential new members that can visit this site. This is a great club, please treat it as such.
