I believe De La Hoya is the better fighter. He has not fought since September 2004 (when he lost via 9th round KO to Bernard Hopkins), so he needs to stay away from Mayorga early to shake off the ring rust - which he is smart enough to do. Once it gets past the first 3-4 rounds, it's De La Hoya.
