How About Inexpensive? Brother MFC-120C
In Response To: grin HP Scanjet ()

I still have a HP scanjet 5p, that must be 10 years old. Free was a good price. SCSI interface so the guy gave it to me.

BUT I needed a new fax and wanted to go as cheap as possible.

I found this one, have it, use it, don't use the scanner yet because it's way too good and has way too much resolution for chips and my snapshots. (plus the old one still works)

Brother MFC-210C, can be found at Office Max and other places for $99 with a $30 rebate. It was cheaper than a new ink cartridge for my old Xerox fax.

USB, 5 different card reader slots, scanner, printer, photo capture (makes tumbnail pages from memory cards) fax. Probably some other things, I know it does OCR

Sample scan: 300 dpi 24bit color

Bottom scan was on HP5p.
