More information on the ERL Illegal chip:
The Taylor & Company records show that the ERL Harp mold chip was ordered by E.R. Lowe in 1941.
The address of “Club Lexivilla”, Elizabethtown Ky. Is crossed out. [this might account for the cancellation on your chip] However, I have several that are not cancelled and were used at the 119 Club in Jeffersonville In.
A further review of the records reveals that E.R. Lowe ordered chips for the 119 club in 1945 when he worked for Poly Hunkler, owner of the 119 Club. Both of these chips were used at 119 West Court Ave., Jeffersonville, In.
Interestingly, the 119 logo had been used previously in 1941 by R. S. Ford in Clinton Ill.
I would like to have one of the cancelled ERL chips and will send you a Non-Cancelled one in return.
