Any time they ran a new hot stamp, they would run tests runs on one side.
Ater the chips had test runs on both sides they would let them drop to the floor and they would be swept up.
1,000's of floor sweepings were run by all distributors, still are today. Some were sold retail, some were pitched, and many survived to find their way into the hobby.
