Anti-gambling activist Jeff Benedict is describing the proposed deal as another attempt to get around the rules.
In a sit-down interview today with News Channel 8, Benedict said the state is flirting with disaster if leaders don't start asking some really tough questions really fast. He's concerned about the precedent.
"Who else can move in, because there's a lot of land over there and there's a lot more room to build more casinos. Who's to say that down the road there couldn't be another one and another one, and pretty soon this starts to look like the strip in Atlantic City."
Benedict admits that we all need to see more information about the MGM/Foxwoods deal, but he says this is not what the state originally agreed to when it comes to Indian gambling.
