I got a Payless midsize car for the week thru Travelocity and the grand total is $160. Rates have gone up a lot in the last few years. Two years ago I got a premium car for $135.

One other thing to watch out for is the "switch". I was in Veags a few weeks ago and I could tell when at the counter that they were having problems getting cars for the customers. In the past they just gave you something bigger if your size wasn't available. This time they gave me a compact for an intermedite price. After I left the counter I got suspicious and fortunately I had my computer with me and checked prices and then went back and complained. At least I finally got the size car I needed.
