he is the younger brother of the recent Tennesse QB Casey Clausen (he also has another brother that was also a Tenn QB). The younger Clausen currently attends Oaks Christian High School in Thousand Oaks/Westlake area of So Cal.

With SC's current QB roster, he was probably looking for some immediate playing time at Notre Dame when Brady Quinn leaves, as well as some major national exposure. Steve B
