I have a few old poker chips with a "C" monogram. I was led to believe that the design on old clay chips were applied with a die of some sort, and I would guess, when the clay was soft. It seems to me that there are no two chips alike in this set, The "C" itself is similar on each, but the flourishes and other detail embellishments are completely different on each chip. This leads me to say each chip was decorated by hand. Were old Ivory chips done by hand? And if so, did this carry over to early clay chips.
