When my son was born, I decided to make him a time capsule.

I then proceeded to spend the next 4 months collecting, buying and begging for every magazine from April 1987 I could get my hands on. You name it...from TV Guide to Playboy. I then did went to the comic book store and bought all of the top comic books from the month he was born and all new comics with a Number 1.

Now to my point; I bought all sorts of cards and left them unopened. I bought Hockey Cards, Baseball cards, Football Cards, Soccer Cards etc. And then I bought the fad tv show cards. I gave the boxes of stuff to him on his eighteenth birthday. Boy was he one surprised boy!

I'll have to make some scans of the packs and maybe you can give me (him)an idea of what they are worth. I'd love to think that my silly romantic idea was a smart investment. I just thought it would be a really cool thing for me to surprise him with when he turned eighteen. The fun thing was keeping it a secret from him for all of those years.
