I think there still is - but like most plants - the workers can give up everything and the corperation will still close them and build other plants outside of the U.S. - it's happened many times in GM - we are one if not the oldest GM plant - It's been paid for many times over - We produce around 1400 suv's a day and there are only around 3000 workers left - in my group ( 3rd shift Non - skilled labors ) there are only about 10 of us left to cover the 1st floor of our plant - they have been elimitaling about 7-10 of us per year - if we retire or die we are not replaced but all the work is still there to be split up among whats left - and have cut our hrs. down to do it in - It's geting very hard to get things done - they want to get rid of us so they can contrat out side works at a lower wage and do not have to pay them benifts ( cost cuting Or more profit ?? )
