Levy still doesn't get it. ...oh well, you tried then and I tried this time.
This thread got me thinking about the complexion of the vehicles I've owned since I started driving in 1968. Here's a list, in the order owned (as best that I can remember).
62 Studebaker Lark
63 Plymouth Belvedere
61 Ford Galaxy
68 Chevy wagon
68 Dodge Dart
73 Subaru wagon--Bought it new for $2300!
58 Chevy Apache Fleetside pickup
68 Ford Galaxy wagon--Bought it for $99 at a dealership, they had a hard time figuring out how to process a vehicle purchase on a credit card!
66 Bultaco 250 Matador
75 Kawasaki KZ400--I loved that bike so much I used to "garage" it in my living room!
Another 73 Subaru wagon--Damn good little cars, and the cargo area in the back was tall enough, I could haul the KZ400 around in it!
Yamaha IT600 Enduro--I don't recall what the model year was, a one cylinder thumper that was modified for racing by the previous owner. I only had it for a month, I scared myself riding it!
79 Plymouth Fury II--Paid $2000 for it when it was only 2 years old, a former county sheriff squad car.
84 Nissan Sentra
86 Plymouth Reliant wagon
73 Ford 1 ton passenger van--Bought it in 88, 21,000 original miles, paid $1 for it because my dad wanted to get rid of it but didn't want to go through the tax paperwork involved in just giving it to me as a gift.
90 Isuzu Impulse--It's still my daily driver. When I first got it, I didn't know that a street car could handle as well as this car does. The Lotus suspension has allowed me to drive out of a number of situations that would have been accidents in cars that don't handle this nice.
76 Mitchell 24-foot Class C motorhome--Built on a Ford dually chassis.
I do have some things I need to do involving clearing out a retail store and moving inventory around between my 4 storage units that would be best handled with a pickup truck. I'll need a couple months to accomplish everything, so renting a truck would be rather costly. I can buy a decent used 4x4 truck here for under $2500, and that's what I'll do, probably next week. If I like it enough, after doing the work needed I might keep it. If I don't like it that much, I should be able to sell it for the same price I paid for it. It could be a domestic truck, or it could have a foreign badge, doesn't matter to me.
