I would hate to see you leave the board/hobby as a result of this and hope it does not come to that end.

From my perspective, I saw you as a stand-up guy who did exactly the right thing. I appreciated the way you handled that auction. I'm not sure all of us would have handled it as well as you did.

Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding with David's post. Although it appeared to be directed at you, it was intended for one of the other incidences that was occurring at the same time. When David realized that, he issued an apology. Unfortunately, this has resurfaced in a bad way.

As I was kind of in the middle of this back then, I feel the right to add my 2 cents now (and not much more than 2 cents), so here goes...

I think both you and David are fine gentlemen and each make the club better in your own way. I also think this issue would be best resolved privately (via e-mail) and not publicly. Finally, I think if you can do so, the club will benefit from retaining a great member.

I hope you and David find no offense to this and agree.
