Last week I spent a week in Oregon with family. I started my trip with several days in Portland. Although I did nothing chip or casino related, I had a great time (Powell's is the greatest book store in the country).
On Sunday, we headed for the coast to a nice beach community called Newport. It's very close to Agate Beach, and boasts a beautiful coast line, nice antique stores and several good restaurants. I was given the name of several casinos/card rooms I could try to locate, and I discovered a few others. Unfortunately, one of them, The Mill, was several hours away (too far).
On Monday, I headed down to the historic Bay Front area to the Rogue Ale Public House.
I was advised that the card room opens at 9 pm, but I took pictures of it during the day.
The Bay Front area is an old and still active port for commercial fishing. It's quite nice, although a bit touristy.
To be continued...
