WBA lightweight champion Juan Diaz (29-0, 14 KOs) retained his title by unanimous decision over previusly unbeaten Jose Miguel Cotto (27-1, 19 KOs), brother of WBO 140lb champ Miguel Cotto. The quicker Diaz showed impressive conditoning as he pulled away for a 116-112, 117-111, 118-110 win.
