I am under the impression that the grading of casino chips is pretty much a non-issue. Since the CC>CC grading scale recognizes ony five grades, all of which should be obvious to even a novice chipper, why would a two-day seminar on grading be needed?

Other than instances of fakes/forgeries/counterfit and repaired chips (which I have not heard much of), and extreme high-value items, I don't see much need of professional chip graders.

On the other hand, if someone feels a need for chip grading training, maybe a two hour session(surely not two days?) at the convention?

Maybe someone knowledable in the area of fakes and repairs could put together an instructive page linked to the club web site?

I could be WAY off base on this next point, but I think that promoting professional chip grading is indirectly encouraging slabbing. Yikes! Did I just say the "S" word.
