and I guess for a lot of people because they were neat souvenirs to take home. Then, like most of us, I discovered the chipboard (actually I found some collectors on the chip ring websites first) and eventually cut down my collection becuase I knew I couldn't get them all.
I just collect house chips now, but I still have a 96 hole framed set from when I first collected, most of which are LEs (and now my only ones) which I will never sell or trade. Just one of those things.
As Gene says, collect what you like, don't knock others for their collecting preferences and you will have a lot of fun in this hobby.
Just my thoughts of course - feel free to agree or disagree - I can take it!!!
