Being new this will affect me, but i can come up with $10 more a year and dont have a problem with it. However i just went through the Life Member list that Archie posted below.
I can tell you that alot of those guys and gals have given me more than $10 in value in my very short time here. One guy on that list knew i wanted something that cost approx. $20 a chip and sent me 2 of them to complete my collection, and when he found out one had broke in the mail he sent another. This was done without me asking for anything, and the guy sends me what i was planning on spending on as soon as i could find it $60 worth of product. Another example, I was looking for Florida illegals, another life member tells me he want $25(im pretty shure about that amount) for chips that should cost me over $100, again he didnt have to do that. This goes on with several life members who have given me chips very unexpected.
The point im getting at is life members(at least the ones ive gotten to know) have given me WAY more either to me personally, to contests, and donations in $$$ than im going to pay when i renew my membership. How can i complain about $10 when ive recieved approx. over $200 in items from life members in my short time here. As well, say a life member doesnt pay anymore for a mag suscription and still gets it, how many of em write the articles for it without pay. What is the price of the info that is given on this board by people like me when i ask "chip id please".IMO they pay one way or another they pay.
Im not rich but i dont see the increase as something that would break me or keep me from being a part of the club. I really woulndt want to see others not renew the memberhip over the price of a few chips. Please dont slam me this is just MY view on things.- Von
