This is my take on the issue. It seems that those who are protesting are doing so because of the increase in Life Membership (from $300 to $450). I wonder how many of the protestors were thinking about becoming a Life Member before the announcement of the dues increase. Prior to the announcemnet of a dues increase the number of Life Members was around 150. Now those that will have to pay $450 at the appropriate time want to pay $300 now JUST TO SAVE MONEY, not because they want the Life Member status. My feeling is that these protestors are complaining because there is no way for them to beat the system. It seems to me that their main reason for becoming a Life Member at the $300 rate is strictly a monetary one. How many in the group of dissatisified members were going to upgrade to Life Member status BEFORE THE DUES INCREASE ANNOUNCEMENT?
