The increase in LM in the past 18 months doesn't mean they signed up to avoid increasing costs. And as far as your bet -- what are the odds you'll give and define what a dramatic increase is.

Of course people who were planning on signing up for a LM will be more likely to do it now that they know the cost will be going up in July. But that doesn't mean that their motivation is solely that increase, that just explains why they do it in June instead of next february.
