I have read the threads here and on the Club Board. So it seems that the magazine is eating up a large portion of the membership dues.

Have we ever discuss scaling back a tad on the magazine?

Don't get me wrong......I think the club mag is a fine publication. But, to be honest, it may be a bit overdone, especially when you compare it to some other club periodicals. My Trout Unlimited membership comes to mind. They probably have 100X the members we have (I think my dues are $50 yearly), and their quarterly periodical is printed on plain old magazine paper. The trout still look pretty darn good in the pictures, too!

I don't see many other club magazines printed on the high-quality material our magazine is printed on.

Personally, I don't mind a dues increase, and if the Life Memberships go up and I am not yet eligible for one, well then that is tough tomatoes on me. I do, however, think that it probably is not good business sense to devote such a large percentage of the collected dues to the magazine.
