After thinking about the translations you provided I have come up with a possible meaning for the characters on these chips. Marysville lies between two rivers - the Yuba River and the Feather River. Both of these rivers were great producers during the Gold Rush days. So maybe the characters could be read to mean "River of 10,000 Treasures" - just a fun guess.....
