We have made quite a bit of progress lately. I never realized we'd be totally rebuilding the house after the storm. But that's basically what we have to do. Clean up and debris removal is finished. All has been sanitized and mold is no longer a problem. Electrical has been totally replaced, as needed, and tested safe. New walls are in and painted. A/C & heater have been installed. Windows and exterior doors will be put in place on 3/27. Cabinets and flooring are on order, to be installed 4/15. After all of that is complete, then we'll have to get interior doors, trim, appliances, etc., etc., etc. The list is endless.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, though. Our target date for vacating "Chateau FEMA" is June 1. We want to be in the house by the next hurricane season!! What are our plans if another one heads this way? I guarantee we'll be in Atlanta with my brother. One boat ride for me is enough for a lifetime.

The weather is turning warm. Debris removal is making progress all along the Coast. It is very sad to see all the vacant lots were those beautiful homes have stood for over 100 years. Our fear is we'll become a coast with condos rising high in the sky. Restaurants and other businesses are opening up daily. There are 3 casinos currently open. I was lucky enough to land a job at one of them. Ed is still at Ingalls Shipyards. They are working very hard to get the yard back in shape too. They had some serious damage there as well.

We are healthy but getting tired. We'll do fine. Thanks to all of you for staying in touch and giving us so much support. It means so much.

Additionally for collectors' info: Grand Biloxi (Harrah's) just announced plans to open a temporary casino in their hotel by August. Beau still scheduled for 8/29. Copa bought Grand Gulfport and plans to open in the Oasis Hotel by September 1.
