Let’s go back to the very first post in this thread where the question was asked about “Slab Chips” by an obviously inexperienced chipper, Todd Siegel …
Mr. Siegel asked; “Was wondering what "Slab chips" are? And what does it mean to be "slab" free?”
A link was provided in response to Todd’s question … which directed Todd (and others) to the Slab Free list of several hundred chip collectors (club members and non-club members alike) who have put their name to a document opposing the slabbing of chips. The list has nothing to do with the club … although hundreds of club members, including past and present club officers and appointed officials and former Chapter officers have supported the pledge list by voluntarily affixing their names.
From this reply to a simple question posted on the chipboard … you have taken several people to task that you obviously dislike and have twisted and mischaracterized their responses to a legitimate question posed by a new collector.
“The club” does not support slabbing of chips by the indisputable FACT that slabbed chips are not permitted to be sold by dealers at the club convention, nor are slabbed chips permitted to be displayed in any exhibit. It’s spelled out very clearly in the signed contracts that dealers and exhibitors have agreed to in order to participate at the club’s annual conventions. Those are the facts as I know them to be. This is not an activity by a “clique” as you have portrayed. Should there be a group of people who wish to change this club policy currently in effect … then I would suggest that they campaign for office and when THEY are elected to office … then they can set the club policy.
The word games that are being played by Stu Grant are an embarrasment ... not the CC & GTCC.
