Good to be back, at least until the 'Honey Do' comes calling .
I'm not sure why the inlay is all red, although it is the same on all of the denominated chips featured in the movie (the roulettes had a black inlay). I'm presuming that the single colour was cheaper to do for the production, rather than the two-colour of the aftermarket chips. It could also be a way of distinguishing it from a 'real' casino chip, as I know Paulson was protective of the colour combinations they used (although I think this is more the edge spot combinations, rather than the inlays). This may also be a the reason they used a $10 and $50 denomination, rather than the customary $5 and $25 (although they kept the $100 and $500, so go figure). I guess the short answer is, I haven't a clue!
In any case, the die-cut inlay and fairly simple design gives them a bit of a retro feel to me, which makes me like them more .

P.S. If you look on the blackjack table in the movie, you can see the same 'Casino de Isthmus City' printed on the layout. Now THAT would be a cool souvenir!
