The real winner of course is the grading company who gets fees for the process. Everyone else is a loser as it costs to have the item graded, the grading process is very subjective, and the price of the item being collected skyrockets.
Chippers would rather not have this hobby become like the coin and card collectors. Although I know card collectors who will tell you horror stories about what went on prior to grading.
I'm no fan of the sealing and grading of casino chips and tokens. However, I'm also not a fan of the "slab free pledge" being signed without a specific definition of what is being pledged.
