#1 - didn't mean to imply that putting chips in the plastic holders is looked down upon by me - I plan to probably put a few in mine as well. What I took away from the slab site is that the chips are PERMANENTLY put into the "slab". I think that would suck. At least if you put the chips in the plastic holders, you CAN take them out to hold if you want to. Cool by me.
#2 - this "sorry" is a tad different. Sorry I can't agree with you on this one ;) a painting was not created with a primary purpose of being driven. A car WAS. If you can't drive it, put it in a museum. However, I will agree that if you have a classic work of art, if you put it away in a closet and can't admire it with respect to the reason it was created - just in order to preserve it, then it's pretty much might as well be a piece of cardboard in the closet, no?
Like many other things (see #1) there are many camps in the classic car community about this issue. Probably should not have brought it up. *LOL* But I am firmly entrenched in the camp that says if you can't drive it, put it in a museum or sell it to someone that will drive it ;)
I don't expect to win anyone over that disagrees with this analogy, but niether will I be bent from my view ;) Though I AM happy to listen to the "other camp" - provided the position held is not likened to a driving a painting. ;)
