I learnt BASIC in 1982, Pascal and Fortran a couple of years later. Learned COBOL in 1990.
Never used any of the above.
Learned C/Object Oriented C++ around 1992-4. Developed sophisticated software for Reuters. Learned javascript since then.
Still use both of the above within my website for validation and exchange rate functions as it was simpler than using anything else

Whoops - forgot assembly language in the 80's. I guess it helped to debug before C started shipping with a debugger I still use Borland C++ version 5 from nearly 15 years ago.
