David,
I bought all that I could because I thought they were the nicest looking chips I had ever seen, I didn't put a premium as to whether they were in a casino as it seems the group here does.
I tried to find more but couldn't, they only appeared in dribs and drabs and some guys who had them wouldn't sell them for any price and other people who had them when I contacted them were ONLY interested in buying mine.
I don't know what constitutes rare, and I've asked the group a few times, I know what pinball machines are rare, as do other pinball collectors. There is a database where we can find how many titles of a certain pinball machine have been produced. Is there no such information for chips?
On the price, I have seen I think just about every le cove auction and they have been selling for what I'm telling you.
Every time an auction would end I would bring my girlfriend over to the computer and show her what the le cove's sold for, she couldn't believe it and thought I was crazy for not selling mine! She also couldn't believe how many thousands of dollars were sitting in our China drawer (neither could I by the way).
