I usually play $25 per hand because in my opinion it is the minimum amount to bet in order to make some decent money at BJ. As long as you have a decent grasp of the basic strategy (and unless you hit a major losing streak), you can play for a long time at the $5 table. I will sometimes bet a minimum of $25 at the $5 table (if there is an open seat) because with more players it gives me a little more time to think. I usually will not sit at a $25 minimum table by myself - it just moves to fast.
I am talking about the guy at the $5 table betting $25 per hand (or more) every hand while there are 5 people deep waiting for a seat. As Archie said, he is the guy out to impress, helping everyone play their hand, yelling at the dealer for more drinks, and complaining that his comped suite is too small.
