This feedback may be in error but, here goes.

I dined at the Shreveport Petroleum Club years ago. If the Denver Club is similar then it is primerily a "Gentleman's Club of local businessmen with deep pockets. More like a country club without the Golf course and on a smaller scale.

I am suspect the chips were make for their "friendly poker games" as these clubs are not open to the general public.
