Here are some shots of a 500 ton Liebher (Lee-Bear) crane that tipped over on a plant site in Alberta this week. The incident occurred on a night shift. Five workers were taken to hospital for examination and were released.
I suspect that the operator required new Fruit of the Looms.
To put the size in perspective, look at the size of the vehicles on the ground for a scale reference. The building that the top of the jib is resting on is a concrete control room and is basically a blast-proof concrete block.
What you are seeing in this shot is the top of the jib section. I am not certain, but the jib is most likely constructed of 8" pipe with cross bracing.
