in the feedback system that eBay could easily fix but won't. I have two negative feedbacks in about 175 transactions. In both cases, I paid immediately after the auction ended (as I do almost all the time). In one case, I outbid others on a $20 chip that was described as being in "perfect" condition. The photo showed the same. The chip I got was a DOG. When I asked the seller to refund my money he told me to _____ off. I kept the chip and left him negative feedback. He saw it and did likewise. I complained to eBay and they wouldn't even discuss it. It would take a reasonable person 5 seconds to figure out what happened, but I was stuck witht the negative. In the other case, I paid a seller with Paypal to his email address (as his ad requested). After I paid, he emailed me and told me he didn't want the payment to go where the ad said to send it (huh?) and told me he would not ship until I resent payment. I said fine, but when I tried to cancel the transaction, I could not because someone (I found out later it was his dad) claimed it. I sent a courteous email requesting a refund or the item. He told me to stick it. Ultimately, Paypal refunded the money. I left negative feedback to warn others. Of course he retaliated, and here is the rub; In the body of the feedback I said "The ad said send Paypal to meathead@yahoo.com". He was able to get it removed because you cant use an email address in feedback. So, he got off scot free and I got a negative. Of course, I complained to eBay, and was politely told "sorry Charlie".
Both sellers are long gone, but I am still here, but I can't help but feel that eBay really does not care a bit about this stuff.
