THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHEYENNE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
5 AM MST THURSDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS HAVE BEGUN ACROSS THE AREA. SNOW WILL
BECOME STEADY LATE TONIGHT AS PACIFIC MOISTURE ALOFT COMBINES WITH
UPSLOPE FLOW AT THE SURFACE. STEADY SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH
WEDNESDAY NIGHT WITH TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 15 INCHES ON THE
PLAINS AND UP TO TWO FEET IN THE MOUNTAINS.
WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH WILL CAUSE WIND CHILL READINGS TO DROP TO
ZERO TO 15 BELOW AT TIMES. THIS COMBINATION OF SNOW AND COLD WILL
MAKE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES DANGEROUS.
A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
