These little white bast*rds only emerge from suspended animation when heavy snow fall occurs. Used to be they were only common to the Western US..During the cold of winter in the last 20 years the little p*kes have been migrated east.
Extremely POISONOUS...They leave no mark when they bite but(you just know they have and then you desire the antidote...if you have been in a similiar situation, you know) If bit by one the only cure is copious amounts of several kinds of beer...Other proven antidotes in South Dakota, Minnesota, North Dakota and that area are 100 proof Peppermint Schnapps, Blackberry Brandy, Sno-shoe Grog(Only in Minnesota and South Dakota),Mad Dog 20/20 and a high speed ride on a snowmobile.
If on the Indian Reservation MD 20/20 and Thunderbird or Night Train Wine seem to work. No snowmobiles there, so have to take in more of antidote.(Double doses of Budweiser seem to be affective.)
If in Central South Dakota folks seem to be especially vulnerable and nothing but 190 Proof Ever Clear and warm near beer seem to work...Of course, the snow snake bite and ensuing death may be preferrable to this antidote.
Please be careful out there...This snow snake threat and the antidote could render you unfit for work for several days.
My advice...Us Norweigians figured this out in South Dakota...drink antidote before going outside in snow...pretty smart, HUH!!!
We are all in this together...Keep your stick on the ice.
(BTW, Red Green knows and if you don't Red Green you need to...)
