Some color does come out of some chips. If you collect chips and not plastic pages why do you care? I have thousands of chips stored this way. I don't have a problem of color transfer to other chips. Possibly if exposed to heat, there might be a problem but I have not seen it.

Simplicity and more compact storage offset any small liklihood of a color transfer to a chip, in my judgement. If you don't agree, there is always the "belt and suspenders" approach with a layer of mylar in between chip and vinyl.
