Great news, Archie and others. The chips were held securely in the case with pieces of rolled up Scotch tape. All is well and the Sands chip is absolutely perfect. I believe it to be mint.

I've replaced most of the chips in the plaque with my own personal favorites which includes: my Nevada Club small crown mold, green/white pie roulette chip, a favorite $5 Harold's Club chip, my Dunes $5/$25/$100 set and of course the newest favorite, the recently acquired $1 Sands chip.
